She attained the age of 74 years and one day. Laura Jean (Schoffelman) Kuper was born Jan. 4, 1927,on a farm north of Lennox, to Gilbert and Dora (Andreessen) Schoffelman. She attended Schoffelman rural school and graduated from Lennox High School in 1944. She received her teaching certificate from the University of Sioux Falls and taught at Sunnyside rural school south of Lennox. She was then employed at Valley Exchange Bank in Lennox. On Apr. 10, 1947, she was united in marriage to Luverne W. Kuper at Turner County First Presbyterian Manse, rural Davis, SD. The couple lived their entire married live in Lennox. Her husband died on Apr. 11, 1992 and she continued to make her home in Lennox. Besides her husband,she was preceded in death by one son, Orlin Kuper on Jul. 29, 1988; her father on Aug. 1, 1930; her mother on Oct. 26, 1984, and one brother, Elmer Schoffelman on Jun.24, 1943. Grateful for having shared her life are one son, Glenn Kuper and his wife, Gracie, of Cincinnati, OH; one daughter, Jannifer Kuper-Swalve and her husband, Gary, of Sioux Falls, SD; a daughter-in-law, Dianne Friese and her husband, Wade, of Lennox; three grandchildren; three brothers and their wives: John G. and Leona Schoffelman, Aldrich and Ruth Schoffelman, all of Lennox, and Henry G. and Cora Schoffelman of Chancellor; two sisters, Hilda Jelsma and Esther Kuper and her husband, Norman all of Lennox.
