Description	:	Laura Jeannine (Bridger) Allen, known to many as "Nana", died after a brief illness in Yakima, on February 19, 2009, surrounded by her family. She was born December 6, 1935, to Kenneth and Florence (Swain) Bridger at Addy, WA. She was one of eight children. She graduated from the eighth grade and then stayed home to help raise her younger brothers and sister. Later, at age 62, she received her G.E.D. from Big Bend Community College. She was born December 6, 1935, to Kenneth and Florence (Swain) Bridger at Addy, WA. She was one of eight children. She graduated from the eighth grade and then stayed home to help raise her younger brothers and sister. Later, at age 62, she received her G.E.D. from Big Bend Community College. On February 13, 1954, she married Earl LeRoy Allen in Republic. The lived in Wyoming for a few years, returning to the Oroville area until Earl's death in 1967. She moved her family to Twin Falls, ID to be closer to her brothers and sister. She worked for Tupperware Manufacturing in Jerome, ID and a pistol grip manufacturing company in Twin Falls. She moved to Canada in 1974 until 1975, when she moved back to Oroville. From 1965 until 1970, she worked at the Peerless and Faos, and from 1975 until 2000, she worked at the B&R Cafe, Cordell Growers, 108 Restaurant, the Eagles, the Duty Free Store for Malcom and Betty Hall, and Princes Center. In 1993, she spent a year in Northpole, Alaska with her daughter, while Deb did chemo treatments. When Deb and Rick moved from Alaska to Ephrata, she spent a lot of time traveling back and forth, when Deb had to do chemo again, and when Rick was diagnosed with Leukemia. Mom's life and joy was her children and grandchildren. She was known as "the warlord" to some, and "Nana" to many others. Harrel, you can retire your forklift now and J.C., you have to make your own biscuits and gravy. She was a charter member of the Oroville Eagles Auxiliary and a past Madame President. When her girls were young, she was a Girl Scout Leader. She had many friends and even more family. She is survived by her daughter, Janet (Harrel) of Omak, sons, Vic (Trish) of New Zealand and David (Ruth) of Oroville; daughters-in-law, Tammy (Darryl) of Yakima and Jessie (Bob) of Oroville; brothers, Wilbur (Evelene) Bridger of Twin Falls, ID, Lynn (Kay) Bridger of Pocatello, ID and Lee Bridger of Twin Falls, ID; sister, Toots (Henry) Fiscus of Twin Falls, ID; sister-in-law, Carlene Bridger of Twin Falls, ID; grandchildren, Christopher, Robert, Melissa, Colton, Earl, Roger, Samanatha, Sonja, Kevin, Christina, Dalene, Clint, Vanessa, Jaqueline, Chase, Shay and Chyna; 16 great-grandchildren and two almost here; exceptional friends, Steve and Ada Retasket of Oroville; four generations of nieces and nephews; and five step-children. Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Allen; parents, Kenneth and Florence (Swain) Bridger; two daughters, Kathy Allen and Debbie Wright; two sons, John Allen and Ellis "Tuffy" Earl Allen; son-in-law, Rick Wright; sister, Nora Rice; and two brothers, Horace "Hoss" Bridger and Kenneth LeRoy Bridger ~ MIA Korea. Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at the Oroville Riverview Cemetery with Pastor John Rounds, officiating.
