Laura Lee Reihle was born on November 25, 1952 to Leo and Margaret (Hackman) Reihle in New Hampton, IA. She attended school in Turkey Valley and graduated from New Hampton High School in 1971. Stolz, age 59, of New Hampton, died Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at University Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa of a sudden illness with her family by her side. Laura Lee Reihle was born on November 25, 1952 to Leo and Margaret (Hackman) Reihle in New Hampton, IA. She attended school in Turkey Valley and graduated from New Hampton High School in 1971. Laura attended the University of Northern Iowa for one year and began working at Sara Lee after high school. She worked there for 27 years. In 2001 Laura returned to UNI and graduated in 2005, earning her degree in special education. Laura began teaching in a behavioral disorder class at Castle Hill School in Waterloo. She also was employed at Exceptional Persons, Inc. in Waterloo as a care provider. Laura was united in marriage to Dennis "Red" Stolz on November 24, 1972 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Hampton. To this union four children were born. Laura enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping with friends, reading, and teaching her students. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Ionia. Laura is survived by her husband, Dennis "Red" Stolz of New Hampton; her children, Jeremy (Christine) Stolz of Waterloo, Jessica (Matt) Brogan of Cedar Falls, and Jon Stolz of Waterloo; her grandchildren, Abigail Stolz, Evan Stolz, Benjamin Brogan, Madilyn Brogan, Zachary Brogan and Wesley Brogan; her sisters, Ann (Ed) Conway of New Hampton, Ellen (Adrian) Kuennen of Iowa City, Carol (Ron) Griffith of West Des Moines and Linda Schaefer of Glendale, AZ; one brother Jeff (Sherri) Reihle of Mt. Vernon, IA and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Benjamin and one brother-in-law, Steve Schaefer. Visitation: 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, January 6, 2012 at Conway-Markham Funeral Home in New Hampton, with a 4:30pm Scriptural wake service and will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Service: 10:30 am on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Ionia, IA with Father Mark Osterhaus celebrating the mass.
