Description	:	Laura M. Luke, 73, Bowbells, died Sunday, January 30, 1994 at her home of natural causes. Funeral services were held Thursday, February 3 in United Methodist Church, Bowbells. Burial will take place in the spring in the Bowbells Cemetery. Officiating for the service was Pastor Stan Hockett, Grace Melby was soloist and organist, accompanist Mary Lynn Jensen. Scripture reading by Doug Holter and obituary reading by Lori Fischer. Active Casketbearers included Wendell Swenson, Larry Swenson, Floyd Swenson Jr., Jeremy Holter, Gerard Swenson, and Lee Alan Swenson. All other relatives served as honorary Casketbearers. She was born May 25, 1920, at Bowbells, a daughter of George and Lillian Swenson. She attended country school near Bowbells. In October 1944, she married LeRoy Luke at Bowbells. The couple were residents of Bowbells most of their lifetime. She was a member of several local homemakers clubs. She was confirmed at the Lutheran church at Niobe. She is survived by her husband, LeRoy “Roy”, Bowbells; sons, Larry, Rock Creek, MN, Lane, Wichita, KS, and Lonnie Hawk Springs, WY; daughter Linda Mellon, Davils Lake; son-in-law Doug Holter, Berthold; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert and Gaylen, both Bowbells. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Johanna Holter. Thompson-Larson Funeral Home of Bowbells handled the service.
