Description	:	LINCOLN – L. Marjorie Whitney, 88, wife of the late Eugene A. "Bud" Whitney, passed away Sept. 17, 2011, at a Lincoln health care facility. She was born April 20, 1923, in Goodman, Wis., daughter of August and Lida (Triplett) Petersen. During World War II, she worked in Hartford, Conn., helping build aircraft for the war effort. She married Bud, June 15, 1946. She was a member of Pilgrim Daughters, Order of the Eastern Star and Lincoln Congregational Church. For many years, she worked on The Riverdrivers Supper. Whitney Jr. and his wife, Melissa, of Dummerston, Vt., Ann Stubbs and her husband, John, of Bangor, Tom Whitney and his wife, Jan, of Lincoln, and Joyce Severance and her husband, Earl, of Lee; six grandchildren, Scott Morrill and his wife, Wendy, of Bangor, Kati Varney and husband, Nick, of Westbrook, Amanda Whitney of Saco, Laci Hanken and husband, Jason, of Sanford, Lori Stubbs of Bangor, and Tommy Severance of Lee; great-grandchildren, Paige and Jake Morrill, and Whitney Varney; her twin sister, L. Marie Harding of Lincoln; and brother, Donald Petersen and his wife, Glenn, of Wilmington, N.C. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband. The family thanks the staff at Colonial Healthcare for their kind help in caring for Marge during the last years of her life. A graveside service will be at Lincoln Cemetery.
