The Rev. Cecil C. Latta was the officiating clergyman and Faith chapter officers conducted Eastern Star Services. Mrs. John J. Rogers was organist. Casket bearers were Lincoln Bowman, Roscoe Bowman, Clarence Bowman, Roy Buckley, Dale Carpenter, and Lee Miller. Burial was in the Coon Rapids Cemetery. Laura Mae Sutton was born February 11, 1864 in Dekalb, Illinois. When she was a small child the family moved to Audubon County where they lived for another few years. They then moved to Carroll County where she met and married Sanford P. Galloway on February 7, 1884. The Galloways lived in Coon Rapids and on a farm one and a half miles north of town until 1920 when they retired and moved back into town. The Galloway's had six children four boys and two girls, Herbert Leroy and Hazel B, deceased. Those living are Mrs. Joseph Sevall (Grace) of Long Beach, California, Melvin H. of Coon Rapids. Paige E. of Des Moines and Clifford B. of Omaha Nebraska. Her husband died February 25, 1923. Mrs. Galloway lived here until 1941 then moved to Omaha where she spent the last 15 years of her life. Five of those years were spent at the Moris Rest Home there. She was a member of the Methodist Church of Coon Rapids and a 50-year member of the Eastern Star, also a charter member. She loved company and made many friends with her hospitality, like to visit and play all kinds of games. Left to mourn her passing are her daughter Grace, three sons, Melvin, Paige and Cliff, two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren as well as a host of friends. Members of the family from out of town here to attend the funeral included Mrs. Joe Lash, Tampa, Florida; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Paul, Long Beach California; Mr. and Mrs. Don Warneke, Hinsdale, Illinois.
