A wedding of local interest took place at 12:30 o'clock Tuesday in the Presbyterian Church, Emmitsburg, when Miss Sara Margaret Hays, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas C. Hays, became the bride of Laurean Warner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Warner, of Blue Ridge Summit. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Walter Smith, of Wilmington, Delaware, former pastor of the bride. Palms, fern and lilies decorated the church, while the wedding music was played by Miss Luella Annan, organist. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attired in a wedding gown of ivory satin and tulle, wore a white hat of horsehair braid trimmed with white roses and long satin streamer, and carried a shower bouquet of roses and lilies-of-the-valley. Her only attendant, Miss Nina Byers, of Weyer's Cave, Virginia, was gowned in rose colored georgette with black hat of horsehair braid and tulle, and carried pink roses and larkspur. Mr. Warner had as his best man, his brother, Guilford Warner, and the following ushers: John and George Franklin, cousins of the bride, and Herbert Rogers and Frank Weant, all of Emmitsburg. After a wedding trip on the Hudson River and at Niagara Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Warner will reside at Blue Ridge Summit. Mrs. Warner graduated from Hood College in 1924, as did her maid of honor, Miss Byers. The former is well known in Emmitsburg and the adjoining vicinity." Mr. Warner was born in Narberth, son of the late Charles A. and Carrie M. Horine Warner. His early life was lived in Sabillasville, Maryland. He resided in Blue Ridge Summit since he was 12 years old. Mr. Warner started in the garage business in 1924 and with his brothers operated the garage business until 1955 when he assumed full ownership. He retired in 1965 when the business was turned over to his son, Joseph H. Warner. SISTER LIVES HERE. He was a member of Hawley Memorial Presbyterian Church of Blue Ridge Summit, the Acacia Lodge F and AM of Waynesboro, and was a charter member of the Blue Ridge Sportsmen's Association. In addition to his widow, Mrs. Margaret Hays Warner, he is survived by two sons and a daughter: Laurean H. Warner Jr., Washington, D.C.; Mrs. Edward Bender, Blacksburg, Virginia; Joseph H. Warner, Blue Ridge Summit; eight grandchildren; a brother and a sister, C. Anderson Warner, Blue Ridge Summit and Mrs. James T. Hays, Gettysburg. Funeral service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Hawley Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Robert L. Rhoads officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Blue Ridge Summit. There will be no viewing. The family will receive friends in the Grove Funeral Home, Waynesboro, from 7 to 9 o'clock tonight. It is requested that flowers be omitted."
