Description	:	Laurel V. Cromar, 90, of Sunnyside passed away Monday, April 10, 2006, at Grandview Healthcare Center. She was born Oct. 7, 1915 in Reardon to Martin and Marguerite (Stites) McLain. Laurel grew up in Reardon until the age of 15 and then moved with her family to Sunnyside, where she met and married Oren Cromar on Aug. 16, 1937. She was employed for many years at JC Penney's, retiring in 1977. She and her husband loved spending time with friends and family, and fishing at Banks Lake. Laurel is survived by her daughter, Harriet Berg of Outlook; one granddaughter, JoAnn Zyph (Dan) of Liberty Lake; one grandson, Thomas Berg (Charlene) of Spokane; one brother, Dale McLain (Gloria) of Liberty Lake; one sister-in-law, Carol McLain of Spokane; four great-grandsons, Tyler, Todd and Andrew Zyph and Jason Berg; four great-granddaughters, Brandy Kovis (Josh), Lindsey, Ashley and Kayla Berg; several nieces and nephews; and cousins. Laurel was preceded in death by her husband, Oren Cromar; her parents, Martin and Marguerite McLain; three brothers, Raymond, Norman and Ralph McLain; one grandson, Brian Berg; and a son-in-law, John Berg. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
