Vinesett, 68 of 1015 North Granard St., died Saturday morning in the Cherokee County Memorial Hospital after several years of declining health and three and one-half months of serious illness. He was a lifelong resident of Cherokee County and the son the Mrs. Isabel Blanton Vinesett and the late J.G. Vinesett. A barber, Mr. Vinesett was part owner of the City Barber Shop. He was a member of the Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church and the Granard Masonic Lodge No. 186. Mr. Vinesett was a former deacon and Sunday School teacher at Cherokee Avenue. He served as Master of the Granard Lodge for several years and was District Grand Marshall for two years. Funeral services will be conducted today at 3 p.m. at the Cherokee Ave. Baptist Church by the Revs. C.E. Hampton, Sidney Norton, and George Locksby. Interment will be in the Grassy Pond Cemetery. Surviving in addition to his mother, are his wife, Mrs. Lillian Bland Vinesett; one daughter, Mrs. Joe Hunt of Gaffney; three brothers, B.B., K.D., and Blaine Vinesett of Gaffney; three sisters, Mrs. L.B. McCraw of Gaffney, Mrs. Jennings Russell of Union, and Mrs. Joe Gosnell of Dayton, Ohio; and one grandchild. Active pallbearers are Travis, Jimmy, Gary, Otis, and O.B. Vinesett; Keith McCraw, and Ricky Jennings. Honorary pallbearers are the Deacons of Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church, the Granard and Lafayette Masonic Lodges the D.L. Martin Sunday School Class, J. Ralph Clary, A.H. and J.B. McCraw, W.B. Humphries, Dr. Hamlet LeMaster, and Wayne LeMaster.
