FIND EMPTY BOTTLES NEAR DEAD MAN'S BODY Had Been Left at Home Alone During Afternoon; Funeral at Grassy Pond Today. ~ While awaiting a report from a chemical analysis determined upon to ascertain whether or not the death of Theadall H. Vinesett, local barber, resulted from poison, preparations were completed yesterday for holding his funeral at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Grassy Pond Baptist church. ~ Mr. Vinesett was discovered dead on the floor at his home on Providence road Sunday evening shortly before 7 o'clock. Two empty pint bottles bearing the odor of alcohol were in the room. according to officers. ~ Coroner Buford Moore, of Blacksburg, came to Gaffney Sunday night to make an investigation. An autopsy was ordered, and a portion of Mr. Vinesett's stomach was removed to be sent to Clemson College to determine whether or not he had been a victim of poisoning. ~ Officers who conducted an investigation said it was learned that Mr. Vinesett had been brought to his home about 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon by one of his brothers, who left him at the home alone., as his wife had gone out. Whehn Mrs. Vinesett came home shortly before 7 o'clock the barber was dead. So far as known, no one else had been in the home or to the house, it was stated. ~ It was thought possible that Mr. Vinesett had consumed the contents of the bottles found near his body, and that perhaps one or both contained poison. ~ Mr. Vinesett, who was 26 years old. was employed at the Burgess & Hammett shop on Limestone street. He worked as usual until midnight Saturday, it was said. ~ The funeral services will be conducted this afternoon at the Grassy Pond church by the Rev. C.A. Kirby, pastor of the Cherokee Avenue Baptist church. Interment will follow in the churchyard with the Shuford-Hatcher Company, morticians, in charge. ~ Mr. Vinesett was a a member of Cherry Camp No. 74, Woodmen of the World. ~ He is survived by his widow, who before marriage was Miss Mabel O'Sullivan, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe G. Vinesett, of the Grassy Pond community; and the following brothers and sisters; S.V. L.V., B.B., K.D, Blaine, and Misses Elsie, Gladys and Melba Vinesett.
