Laurie was born on July 7, 1950 in Kearney to Richard Jr. and Dorothy “Jo”Ann (Seidel) Rogers. She was raised on a farm between Kearney and Gibbon. She graduated from Gibbon High School. Private family services will be held at a later date.∼Laurie Sayer, 70 of Kearney passed away Friday, October 30, 2020 at her home with her family and her beloved Stella Luna by her side. Laurie was born on July 7, 1950 in Kearney to Richard Jr. and Dorothy “Jo”Ann (Seidel) Rogers. She was raised on a farm between Kearney and Gibbon. She graduated from Gibbon High School. Laurie was united in marriage to Randy Horine. The family lived in Norman and Minden. After the couple divorced, Laurie and daughter moved to Kearney. Laurie was raised in a hard-working family and she carried that work ethic throughout her life. She worked at Baldwin Filters before obtaining her LPN License in 1983. She worked at Good Samaritan Hospital in the PCU, TCU and 2 North through 2010. In 2011, Laurie graduated from Central Community College with honors with a Health Information Management Services-Medical Coding degree. After her receiving her degree she worked for Kearney Clinic and Valley Medical Management Services performing medical coding. Her final employment was with B & B answering services until retirement four years ago. Laurie loved to read since she was a child. The past few years her yard and flowers became her passion and she kept it all to perfection even with failing health. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Angelique Trotter of Kearney; granddaughters, Ina Bradley and Emily Trotter, both of Lincoln; sisters, Lisa (Martin “Marty”) Huff of Lincoln and Holly Grady of Solida, CO; brother, Steve (Dorothy) Rogers of Kearney; niece, Kelli Hergert (Dax Englert); nephews, Joe Hergert (Adam Hahn) and Tommy Hergert (Kayla); great niece, Hadley Hergert; great nephew, Thomas (Teddie) Hergert; and other extended family and friends. Laurie was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Rebecca Jo Rogers; brother-in-law, Dave Grady.
