LaVera Irene Blasberg was born on September 12, 1924, the daughter of Rheinhardt and Mabel (Winning) Staack in Tripoli, Iowa. She attended parochial school at Immanuel Lutheran School, Klinger. LaVera was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church on May 22, 1938. On December 14, 1941, she was united in marriage to Alwin L. Blasberg at Immanuel Lutheran Church – Klinger rural Readlyn, Iowa. LaVera Irene Blasberg was born on September 12, 1924, the daughter of Rheinhardt and Mabel (Winning) Staack in Tripoli, Iowa. She attended parochial school at Immanuel Lutheran School, Klinger. LaVera was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church on May 22, 1938. On December 14, 1941, she was united in marriage to Alwin L. Blasberg at Immanuel Lutheran Church – Klinger rural Readlyn, Iowa. After their marriage they became members of St. Paul's Lutheran in Waverly. LaVera was a homemaker and together, she and Alwin farmed southeast of Bremer, Iowa until his death. LaVera continued to make her own on the farm until the time of her death. She was also an Avon Representative for many years. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly. La Vera enjoyed ceramics and crocheting, but her greatest love were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors are her son, Darrell (Joann) Blasberg of Waverly, Iowa; four grandchildren, Matthew (Tammy) Blasberg of Waverly, Iowa, Melissa Blasberg of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Monica (David) Deets of Shorewood, Illinois and Mitchell Blasberg of Waverly, Iowa; three great-grandchildren, Ryne, Reece and Royce Deets and by a sister, Evaan Schmitz of Waterloo, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alwin Blasberg of July 11, 2002 and three sisters, Aleta Boehme, Ladonna Bunger and Daphine Kammeyer. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly with Pastor Joyce Sandberg officiating. Burial will follow in Harlington Cemetery in Waverly. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly and also an hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
