Description	:	LaVerne E. Davidson, age 89, of Hope, Kansas passed away Sunday, December 7, 2014 at the Memorial Hospital in Abilene. She was born October 26, 1925 the daughter of Carney & Orlie (Lent) Barr. She graduated from Kincaid High School in Kincaid, Kansas and attended Washburn University. On January 20, 1946 she married Lowell Arthur Davidson in Topeka, Kansas. All their married life was spent on the Davidson Homestead in the Dillon area. Davidson, age 89, of Hope, Kansas passed away Sunday, December 7, 2014 at the Memorial Hospital in Abilene. She was born October 26, 1925 the daughter of Carney & Orlie (Lent) Barr. She graduated from Kincaid High School in Kincaid, Kansas and attended Washburn University. On January 20, 1946 she married Lowell Arthur Davidson in Topeka, Kansas. All their married life was spent on the Davidson Homestead in the Dillon area. During that time LaVerne was a homemaker and was the SRS Home Care Supervisor for Dickinson County. LaVerne was a member of the Hope United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening, flower gardening, bird watching and tending to all the trees she had planted on the family farm. LaVerne is survived by her daughters Ann Teach of Topeka, Kansas, Nancy Davidson of Topeka, Kansas; sons Arthur of Hope, Kansas, Dale & his wife Emma of Hope, Kansas, James & his wife Sheryl of Abilene, Kansas; 12 grandchildren & 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Lowell on February 21, 2007, her son Charles on July 6, 2010, her brother Charles Barr, her sister Glada Hyman, and her parents. Funeral services for LaVerne will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 12, 2014 at the Hope United Methodist Church in Hope with Pastor Don Alt officiating. Her final resting place will be in the Pilgrim’s Home Cemetery near Hope. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in LaVerne’s memory to the Hope Community Education Endowment Association and may be sent in care of the Carlson-Becker Funeral Home, 106 N. 2nd Hope, Kansas 67451.
