Description	:	Lavina was born to Sven and Anna Barlow at Stoughton, WI. She grew to womanhood and was confirmed in the Lutheran Church at Calmar, IA where the family moved when she was a child. In 1897, she and her husband Ole Nesset moved to Ridgeway, IA, 7 miles SE of Cresco where they lived for 20 years. Aft the death of her husband she made her home on the "home place" with her son, Maurice, and family in Oak Grove, Wadena Co, MN Ten children were born to Ole and Lavina of which eight preceded her in death. ... She is survived by sons William and Maurice and sisters Mary Bergen of Calmer, IA and Ida Barlow of Decorah, IA and a brother Theodore of Calmer, IA. Grandma Nesset as she was affectionately known by many, led a busy active life and was a faithful member of her church. Although past 80 years of age when she fell, breaking a hip, she soon was about with the aid of a cane. Failing eyesight ended much handwork. Her health began to fail about a yaer before her death on May 12, 1949 at Wesley Hospital in Wadena where she had been as a result of complications of advanced age. She was 88 years and two months at the time of her death. Services were conducted at St Pauls Lutheran church in Verndale and the following day in Calmer, IA with burial beside her husband at Cresco.
