She was a joy to know from the moment she arrived. LaVon moved from Wyoming as a young child and grew up in Sunnyside. She was popular with her friends and always gave from her heart. Read More	LaVon Lynch, 70, of Kent beloved wife, mother and friend, passed away Monday, April 11, 2005, at her home of 46 years in Kent. LaVon Crowe was born Aug. 14, 1934 in Riverton, Wyo. She was a joy to know from the moment she arrived. LaVon moved from Wyoming as a young child and grew up in Sunnyside. She was popular with her friends and always gave from her heart. She graduated from Sunnyside High School. She escaped all the boys who pursued her except one. She married Leonard Lynch on Feb. 19, 1955 at the Sunnyside Baptist Church. They were married for 50 years. She was a mother without compare and her daughters and grandchildren meant the world to her and her to them. She was very active in her children's activities and school and was awarded Parent of the Year when her daughter, Linda graduated from high school. She taught them how to be kind, patient and give with all their heart. Thanks, mom. As a teacher of 25 years at Valhalla Elementary School, she touched many lives and brought joy to each. She received numerous prestigious honors for her work with children including two Golden Acorn Awards. She had a special gift for teaching. She loved her students and they loved her. She was the "Valhalla Grandmother". She loved to learn and attended many classes at the University of Washington and Seattle Pacific University. She loved to cook, read and travel and was an expert calligrapher. She traveled all over the United States and Europe. She retired in 2000 to care for her husband who was very ill. LaVon dedicated her life to the service of others. She strived to teach compassion and forgiveness and always maintained a child like joy in her heart even though she had sadness in her life. She was our angel on earth. She will be missed but never forgotten. LaVon is survived by a loving family; husband, Leonard Lynch of Kent; daughter and son-in-law. Linda and Matt Norton and grandchildren, Matthew and Michelle Norton all of Sullivan's Island, S.C.; brother, Duane (Chieko) Crowe of Richland; sisters, Robie (Wenton) Dillard of Montana, Jeanette Knight of Sunnyside and Patricia Wilcox of Auburn; and many, many loving nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Mabel Crowe; brother, Jimmy Crowe; sister, Adalynn Crowe; and daughter, Laurie Kim Lynch, who died of Leukemia at age 11. Memorial services will be held Monday, April 18, 2005, at 4:30 p.m. at All Saints Lutheran Church, 272nd and Military Road in Kent. Final resting place at Hillcrest Burial Park.
