Description	:	LaVonne Shields, age 87, passed away September 28, 2012, in Arlington, Texas. LaVonne was born November 25, 1924, in Persia, Iowa, to the late H. LeRoy and Iva (Gray) Kemmish. She graduated from Logan, Iowa High School in 1942, where she played in the high school band. After graduating, LaVonne went to Junior College, then continued to the University of Iowa. LaVonne taught K-3 at a Persia area country school for one year before marrying Bernard "Bernie" Shields on March 17, 1945. She was a homemaker when her children were young, later working in bookkeeping at a department store and bank.... Later in life they went to live close to family in Arlington, Texas. In addition to her parents, LaVonne was preceded in death by her husband, Bernie in 2007. LaVonne is survived by her daughters, Janice Shields, of Goodyear, Ariz., Pat Lemons and husband, Ron, of Arlington, Texas; 5 grandchildren, Kelly Rosales, Scott Robinson, Brent Lemons, Carisa Grieve, Blake Lemons; 5 great grandchildren, Cruz Rosales, Reid Lemons, Grant Lemons, Andrew Grieve and Zachary Grieve.
