He was born on Feb. 21, 1928, in Logan County, Colo., the sixth of 11 children, to Giovanni and Domencia Marostica. He grew up on a farm near Iliff, Colo., attending school in Iliff. He was born on Feb. 21, 1928, in Logan County, Colo., the sixth of 11 children, to Giovanni and Domencia Marostica. He grew up on a farm near Iliff, Colo., attending school in Iliff. After graduation from high school he attended the University of Wyoming. He served in the U.S. Army in both World War II and the Korean War, attaining the rank of colonel before his retirement. While attending the University of Wyoming he met, and later married, Joye Ann McCaffrey in Lovell, in August, 1951. They were later sealed for eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. Larry was a social worker by profession and worked in Wyoming and Colorado county and state welfare departments before serving as Chief of Social Services for the State of Connecticut, a position from which he retired in 1985. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having served in many leadership positions, including stake president's counselor and stake patriarch. He and Joye also served full-time missions in Missouri and Italy. He had a beautiful singing voice and enjoyed listening to classical music. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and looking for arrowheads. After retirement he also especially loved to garden and to care for his yard in Colorado City, Colo. Larry was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Besides his wife of 56 years he is survived by his family of four sons and one daughter, Tony (Jill),Marty (Raelynn), Matt (Pamela), Dan (Stephanie) and Lisa Mosman, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother and six sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister and other loved ones. Interment was in Rye's Brookside Cemetery with military honors by the Fort Carson Honor Guard.
