Description	:	Lawrence A. Blunck, 58, died Friday, June 22, 1984, at Montclair Nursing Center Hospice Unit in Omaha. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ron Hedlund officiating. Mrs. Opal Timmer played the organ and vocalists were Justine Adkisson, Chris Adamson and Janet Mowery. Pallbearers were Louis Blunck, Palmer Albers, Elwood Blunck, Norman Blunck, Wayne Blunck and Kenneth Blunck. Interment was in the Edna Valley Cemetery, rural Eden Valley, Nebraska. Lawrence August Blunck was born February 13, 1926, on the family farm south of Midland, the son of Willie and Ella (Pruess) Blunck. He was baptized in the First Presbyterian Church of Osmond on June 20, 1926. He attended Hillside School District #141, in Knox County and resided on the family farm throughout most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army from May 23, 1951 to May 22, 1953, and served a part of that time in Germany. Due to ill health in December 1983, he moved to Osmond. In February 1984, he entered the Veterans Hospital in Omaha for treatment of cancer of the colon and was later transferred to Montclair Nursing Center Hospice Unit in Omaha, where he passed away. He never married. Surviving are his mother, Ella Blunck of Wausa; one brother, Harold Blunck of Wood River; two sisters, Edna (Wendell) Rohrberg and LaVerne (Marvin) Schlake of McLean; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, two twin brothers in infancy and one sister-in-law, Zelma Blunck. The Osmond Republican, June 27, 1984.
