Mass of the Christian burial for Lawrence Bruch will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1999, at St. Lawrence Church in Carroll. Mr. Bruch, 91, died Monday, Sept. 6, 1999 at Carroll Manor Nursing Home. The Revs. Walter Bruch, James Bruch, Lynn Bruch and Lawrence Burns will concelebrate the Mass. Gift bearers will be Sisters Delores Bruch, Rosemary Bruch and Laura Tauber. Casket bearers will be Paul Bruch, Donald Bruch, James Tauber, Leo Bruch, Art Bruch Jr. and Robert Bruch. Burial will be in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Mt. Carmel. Visitation and a rosary were held this afternoon at Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. St. Lawrence Parish will hold a Christian wake service at 7:30 and the Knights of Columbus will lead a rosary at 8:15 tonight at the funeral home. A son of Joseph Sr. and Anna (Hoelker) Bruch, he was born Sept. 16, 1907, at Mount Carmel. He spent his younger years there, attending rural school. He and Teresa Kuennen were married Sept. 18, 1934, at St. Luke Church in Lucas, Iowa. The Bruchs farmed in the Carroll area and in and in northeast Iowa. They retired in 1971 and moved back to Carroll. Mr. Bruch was a member of St. Lawrence Parish and its Men's Club and was an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include three brothers; Joseph Bruch Jr. and his wife, Hilda, of Carroll, Edwin Bruch of Carroll and Rev. Walter Bruch of Carroll; and three sisters, Sister Dolores Bruch FSPA of Carroll, Rosemary Bruch of Carroll and Laura Tauber and her husband, Ralph, of Guthrie Center. Mr. Bruch was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Teresa, in 1983; three brothers, Art, Julian and Carl Bruch; and a sister, Elizabeth Vonnahme.
