Read More	Lawrence E., only son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Clark was born one mile north of Evansport, in Williams County, Ohio, June 16, 1901. He secured his public school education near the old home and his high school in Evansport and Stryker schools. When he was about one year old his parents presented him for Christian baptism, Rev. J. A. Spiker, officiating. He was a member of the Evansport Methodist Sunday School until his duties took him away from the town. He was a life member of the ******, first of the Juvenile and later of the Subordinate. He united with the Modern Woodman of Bryan about a year ago. He was engaged in the trucking business for about two years. About a year ago he formed a partnership with Mr. J. R. Phillips of Bryan. In his high school days he met Miss Grace Highbea to whom he was married, September 12, 1923. On February 20, 1924 he met with a serious accident in which he and his wife were dreadfully burned. The wife died from the effects about ten days after. The husband lingered on between hope and despair ministered to by kind friends until the morning of March 23, 1924, when his spirit took its flight from the suffering body. He had arrived at the age of 22 years, 9 months and 7 days. He is survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Clark three sisters, Alberta, Arvilla and Ethel, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ehrmin and many relatives and friends. Funeral services conducted from the Methodist Episcopal Church in Bryan Wednesday afternoon by Rev. Yeagle assisted by Rev. D. G. Hall, Interment in St. John's cemetery. ------------------- Funeral services for Lawrence Clark were held in the Methodist church Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Clark died early Sunday morning after a month of suffering from an accident that occurred the morning of February 20. Mr. Clark and his wife were both fatally burned by exploding gasoline that was thought to be kerosene, and that was used by him in starting a fire in the kitchen range at his home on South Walnut Street. Mrs. Clark who was not burned so severely passed away on February 29, after suffering greatly from shock and the effects of the burned fluid. It was though for a time that Mr. Clark might recover, but he would have been crippled and disfigured if he had, and last week he steadily snak until the end. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Clark, of Evansport, and was 22 years old. He was married last September and was associated in business with J. R. Phillips and was taken to the Phillips home on South Beech Street after his injury where he died. Rev. Mr. Yeagley of Stryker assisted by Rev. D. G. Hall, of Bryan conducted the funeral. ------------------- March 1-Death of Mrs. Lawrence Clark, 22, occured here early as a result of burns sustained during an explosion of gasoline in a stove.
