Description	:	Mrs. Lawrence Clark died Friday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Phillips, 604 South Beach street, as a result of burns she received on the morning of February 20. Mrs. Clark and her husband were both desperately injured at their home on South Walnut street when a can supposed to contain kerosene oil exploded while he was pouring the liquid on the kitchen fire to start the breakfast. Read More	Mrs. Lawrence Clark died Friday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Phillips, 604 South Beach street, as a result of burns she received on the morning of February 20. Mrs. Clark and her husband were both desperately injured at their home on South Walnut street when a can supposed to contain kerosene oil exploded while he was pouring the liquid on the kitchen fire to start the breakfast. It developed that the can contained gasoline which had been delivered by mistake by one of the oil companies selling in this town. For a while after the accident her life was thought to be ebbing, but later last week her physician expressed the belief that she would recover. In a day or two, however, she began to sink and the end came Friday afternoon. Mr. Clark is still seriously ill. but probably not fatally. Funeral services were held for Mrs. Clark in the Methodist church Monday afternoon and the auditorium was not large enough to accommodate the crowd of sympathizing friends and neighbors who attended. Rev. Yeagley of Stryker who officiated at her wedding on the 12th of last September, assisted by the Rev. D.G. Hall, pastor of the Bryan church were the officiating clergyman. Mrs. Clark was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Higbea of Adams township, Defiance county. She was graduated from the Defiance high school and later attended the college in that city. After her marriage they located here.
