Mr. Cook was born in Kansas City, Mo., and had lived in Des Moines 53 years. He taught music in the Waukee, Adel and Southeast Polk schools and owned a music store. He was the retired business administrator with Westminster Presbyterian Church and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. H was a member of Capital Masonic Lodge and Des Moines Consistory. He had also been an officer in the Grand Lodge of Iowa and served as president of the Des Moines Symphony Association and treasurer of the Des Moines Civic Music Association. He is survived by his wife, Marlys; two sons, Randy of Basel, Switzerland, and Brian of San Diego; and a daughter, Marilyn Cook of Lee, N. H.
