He then married Vernice Eikenberry in Wabash on August 16, 1992. He worked for Container Corporation many years retiring in 1988. Louie was a former member of the Wabash Alliance Church, and attended College Corner Brethren Church and the Wabash Friends Church. He was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the United Paper Workers. Louie enjoyed playing the banjo, music and woodworking.
