Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greeley, with the Rev. Donald Buhrman officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Charles E. Martin American Legion Post No. 186 of Greeley. T.J. Finn and Sons Mortuary in Greeley is in charge of arrangements. Read More	GREELEY — Lawrence Joseph "Larry" O'Connor, 81, of Greeley died Friday, March 22, 2013, at home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greeley, with the Rev. Donald Buhrman officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Mr. O'Connor was born July 24, 1931, at Greeley to James Joseph and Gertrude Rosanna (Welch) O'Connor. Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Rosemary; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Kathleen and Terry Kennedy of Greeley and Sheila O'Connor and Ron Bouwens of Lincoln; and a brother, James A. O'Connor of Greeley. Also surviving are one grandson, Patrick Kennedy of Greeley; a sister-in-law, Patricia Lammers of Greeley; nieces and nephews; and many neighbors. Larry had many dear friends and will be missed by all. Larry was raised in Greeley and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1949. Following graduation, Larry worked on the family farm. In May 1953, he joined the U.S. Army. Larry was an anti-aircraft gunner at the Thule Airbase in Greenland and was a proud member of the Knights of the Blue Nose. Following his discharge from the U.S. Army in April 1955, Larry returned to the O'Connor Family Farm, where he spent the rest of his life. Larry was united in marriage to Rosemary Cain on Nov. 17, 1956, at Greeley. Two daughters, Kathleen and Sheila, were born to this union. Larry was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Greeley American Legion Post No. 186. He was proud to fly the American flag daily. Along with Don Zahm, Larry was instrumental in creating the Avenue Flags at the Greeley Cemeteries. Larry enjoyed farming and mowing his yard. He was a talented woodworker and re-finisher. For 40 years, Larry and Rosemary operated O'Connor Upholstery. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother-in-law, John Lammers; a sister-in-law, Pat O'Connor; and a nephew, Fred Lammers.
