He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta. TEBELIUS, Lawrence L. Bismarck Tribune, ND, Sep. 10, 2000 Lawrence L. Tebelius, 86, Bismarck, died Sept. 5, 2000. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Seventh-day Adventist Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Ray Kelch officiating. Entombment will be in Sunset Mausoleum, Bismarck. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Monday at Eastgate Funeral Service, and will continue at the church one hour before services. Lawrence was born Jan. 18, 1914, in Harvey. He attended school in Harvey, graduating in 1933. During his high school years, he was a member of Harvey High School basketball, football, baseball and track teams. He married Loretta Preszler on Aug. 21, 1938, and they had three children, Charles, Maxine and Linda. Lawrence enjoyed a long and successful business career which began with his attending the Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis from 1935-1936. He was employed as an accountant by the Bank of North Dakota from 1938-1940. From 1940-1947, he was an accountant/manager with Builders Supply Co., and from 1947-1951, the manager of Bardwell Robinson Co. He left this business to own and operate Bismarck Paint and Glass Co. until 1966. From 1960 until his retirement in 1996, he operated L.L. Tebelius Sales as a manufaccturer's rep for school equipment, moveable partitions and auditorium seating. Lawrence was also a partner and original owner of the first Holiday Inn of Bismarck. Lawrence was a member of the Elks Lodge No. 1199, the Masonic Lodge No. 5, the Builders Exchange, and the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He was past president of Sunset Memorial Gardens. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and golf. He was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings, Minnesota Twins and the Bismarck High School Demons. He is survived by three children, Charles Tebelius, Eden Prairie, Minn., Maxine Close, Denver, and Linda Christianson, Sacramento, Calif.; and five grandchildren, Lara Tebelius, Pittsburgh, Brian Close and Scott Close, both of Denver, Marc Tebelius, Grand Forks, and Heather Christianson, Sacramento. He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta. The family prefers memorials to the Seventh-day Adventist Church or the Bismarck Elks Lodge for charitable causes.
