Description	:	Lawrence Roderick Halvorson was born on February 26, 1902 near Hills, Minnesota, the fourth of the the eight children of Halvor Halvorson and Laura Rossum Halvorson. He was baptized at the Lutheran church on March 13, 1902 and confirmed on July 15, 1917. On October 7, 1926 he married Alva Blanford in Pipestone, Minnesota. At that time Alva's daughter Joyce was about 4 years old so he had an instant family. By 1930 they were in Sioux Falls where Lawrence was selling cars. Read More	Lawrence Roderick Halvorson was born on February 26, 1902 near Hills, Minnesota, the fourth of the the eight children of Halvor Halvorson and Laura Rossum Halvorson. He was baptized at the Lutheran church on March 13, 1902 and confirmed on July 15, 1917. On October 7, 1926 he married Alva Blanford in Pipestone, Minnesota. At that time Alva's daughter Joyce was about 4 years old so he had an instant family. By 1930 they were in Sioux Falls where Lawrence was selling cars. By 1936 Lawrence was a fireman and they were living at 519 W 14th Street - and in 1940 all of that was the same. On June 4, 1948 his step-daughter Joyce married Jack Harrison Rumsey in Las Vegas. 1950 found them at the same place, but by then Lawrence had his own real estate, loans and insurance business. Lawrence died on September 9, 1980 - the SSA says his last residence was Anaheim, California. Alva died January 28, 1992. They are buried together where they lived most of their lives - Sioux Falls. Written by Lawrence's grand-niece, Diane Scholten, granddaughter of his oldest sister Myrtle Halvorson Scholten.
