Description	:	Private family services for Larry Hrbek, age 74, of Niobrara, Nebraska will be Thursday, December 31, 2020, at Niobrara Presbyterian Church in Niobrara. Reverend Martha Atkins will officiate. Public graveside services will follow at approximately 11:00 a.m. at L’Eau Qui Court Cemetery in Niobrara. Public visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church. Social distancing guidelines will be followed. Masks are required. Lawrence “Larry” Wayne Hrbek was born August 19, 1946, at Lynch, Nebraska to Eddie and Alice (Kopejtka) Hrbek. He was the oldest child of three boys, Larry, Don, and Dean. Larry attended country school through the eighth grade and grew up around the Dorsey area. He helped farmers around Holt county. Larry met his future wife Jolene on a blind date in 1964. They were united in marriage on September 30, 1965, at Bonesteel, South Dakota. Larry and Jolene made their home in Verdel, Nebraska. They had two sons: Doug was born March 15, 1966, and Steve was born February 17, 1967. Larry worked at the elevator in Verdel for many years and on the bridge on Highway 11 near Butte, Nebraska. The family moved to the Miller farm in 1984 where he farmed for a while. They moved to Niobrara in 1997. Larry worked at Herbert Feed and Grain, Niobrara School, Low Rent Housing, and had a lawn mowing service. He loved pigs and his favorite crop was milo. Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Jolene; parents; grandparents; and brother, Don. He is survived by his sons, Doug and Steve; daughter-in-law, Leah; grandchildren, Tanner, Kendra, Beau, Shane (Sarah), Dillan (girlfriend Kenzie), and Courtney; one special great-grandchild, Ellison, aka “Piglet” Hrbek; brother, Dean (Michele) Hrbek; and sister-in-law, Julie Hrbek.
