Description	:	KILLED BY THE CARS. A terrible accident, resulting in a sudden death, occurred at Birmingham about 6:35 o'clock Monday evening. The west bound train was there and was doing some switching, it being quite dark at the time, when Lawrence, the 15-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Arbaugh, climbed to the top of one of the freight cars for a ride while the train men were doing their station work. The car he climbed onto was at the extreme rear of the train backing at the time, and the opinion seems to be that he thought there was another car... Read More	KILLED BY THE CARS. A terrible accident, resulting in a sudden death, occurred at Birmingham about 6:35 o'clock Monday evening. The west bound train was there and was doing some switching, it being quite dark at the time, when Lawrence, the 15-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Arbaugh, climbed to the top of one of the freight cars for a ride while the train men were doing their station work. The car he climbed onto was at the extreme rear of the train backing at the time, and the opinion seems to be that he thought there was another car in the rear of the one he was on and with that idea, in the darkness attempted to step to it and fell to the road bed below. In his fall his arm and head lay across one of the rails, over which the wheels of the car passed, severing the arm entirely and nearly severing the head, bringing instant death. The accident was discovered almost as soon as it occurred by the trainmen. It came as a terrible shock to the parents, the entire community deeply sympathizing with them in their great affliction.
