The son of Lee and Egidia Christensen Kinzie, he was born near Lewis Oct. 26, 1928, and attended rural schools in Cass and Audubon Counties. During World War II, he served in the Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at 2 P. M. He grew up in several areas in southwest Iowa where he attended schools in Cass and Audubon Counties. During World War II he served in the Navy. On October 4, 1949 he was married to Bettie Masching at Audubon. They farmed for several years and LeRoy later was employed as a truck driver until an accident caused his loss of sight in 1971. Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs Don (Derinda) Gettler of Casey; three grandchildren, Brian Gettler, Suzanne Gettler, and Bradley Gettler; one brother, Cecil Kinzie of Anita; nieces and nephews. Also by one great-niece, Valarie Riley of Houston, Texas, whom they had raised. LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother, Lucille Kinzie; and one brother, Johny D. Kinzie. Services were held Wednesday, May 4, 1988 at Mullen Funeral Home, Anita, Adair County, Iowa. Officiant was Dr. Kenneth Miller, pallbearers were Tommie Christensen, Roger Christensen, Sam Metheny, Steven Metheny, Stanley Metheny, and Sheldon Metheny. Kinzie, 59, of Anita, were held Wednesday, May 4, 1900 at 2:00 P. M. at the Mullen Funeral Home in Anita. Mr. Kinzie passed away May 1 at the Atlantic Care Center in Atlantic. Officiating at the service was Dr. Kenneth Miller. Jack and Imogene Fulk and Madelene Moore were in charge of flowers. Pallbears were Tommie and Roger Christensen and Sam, Steve, Stanley and Sheldon Metheny. Interment was in the Anita Evergreen Cemetery. Mullen Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
