Duane Tritle were held Tuesday morning, Feb. 21, at the Smithland cemetery for Mrs. Leah Gambs Humiston, who died near Tulsa, Okla. Duane Tritle were held Tuesday morning, Feb. 21, at the Smithland cemetery for Mrs. Leah Gambs Humiston, who died near Tulsa, Okla. Mrs. Humiston was January 11, 1889 at Sioux City and died January 25, 1961. When quite young she accompanied her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John W. Gambs to Colorado, Kansas and Oklahoma where in the early years of the latter state she taught school. In 1906 she was married Arthur Harry Humiston, who preceded her in death. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ruth E. Morris of Arlington, Va., and Helen Fowler of Ontario, Calif., six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a brother, Glen Gambs of San Francisco, and three cousins, Mrs. Edna Unkel of Hornick and Casper and Ralph Steinhoff and other cousins away from here. She is buried beside her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. John Gambs, and her paternal grandparents. Her daughter, Mrs. Ruth Morris of Arlington, VA., came for the services and remained for a two weeks visit with her cousins, Mrs. Edna Unkel at Hornick and Ralph and Casper Steinhoff and their families, leaving last Saturday.
