WILLIAM HUXTABLE CALLED BY DEATH: MANY HERE FOR FUNERAL WHICH WAS HELD WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AT THE HOME: Leah Lydia Heath, the fifth of the seven children born to James and Jane Heath, was born August 25, 1863 near Rochester, Minnesota and passed away at her home in Newell, Iowa on June 26, 1933 at the age of sixty-nine years, ten months and one day. At an early age she moved with her parents to Mineral Point, Wisconsin where she grew to womanhood. She was married on September 15, 1879 to William Huxtable and they made their home near Mineral Point until the spring of 1885 when they located at Newell, Iowa which has since been their home. To this union were born five children, four of whom survive her, one daughter, Mrs. Nora Lewis proceeding her in death March 7, 1913. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, William Huxtable, three daughters, Mrs. Jennie Hoverden of Laurens, Iowa; Mrs. Ada Phillips of Newell, Iowa and Mrs. Velma Zinn of Storm Lake, Iowa; one son Elmore C., of Newell; also eleven grand children and three great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Goretta Campton of Storm Lake, Iowa; two brothers, Chandler Heath of Mineral Point, Wisconsin, and Ara Heath of Storm Lake, Iowa and a large number of other relatives and friends. The great essentials of her life's happiness were something to do, some one to love and something to hope for. Thirty-nine years ago she united with the Methodist Episcopal church in Newell, Iowa, and for some thirty years or until her health failed, she was a faithful and active worker in the church, particularly in the Ladies' Aid society where she served as president. She was always pleasant, always ready to give her friendship. Her ideals and aspirations were high. Her home was aglow with friendship and cheer. In winter her heart was warmed, in summer her garden was filled with flowers. With the passing years her health slowly failed her but she continued to live majestically in the greatest things of life, greatly generous in patience and love. Funeral services were held from the home at 2:00 pm on Wednesday in charge of the Rev. A.J. Barkley, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church, assisted by a quartet composed of F.W. Witter, Mrs. O.A. Baskerville, Mrs. M.J. Hines and Lyle Smith with Mrs. F.W. Witter as accompanist. Burial was made in the local cemetery. Pall Bearers were N.M. Layman, John Maddox, E.W. Wilso, George Fredenburg, C.A. Johnson and Joe Chaney. There were many out of town relatives and friends who attended the funeral.
