Description	:	Leah Maud Fisher Cooke, 78, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007 at Community Hospital, in Springfield. She was born Oct. 22, 1929, in Springfield, the sixth child of Steven Alfred and Maud Maurel Wike Fisher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Lincoln Kay and Leslie Arno Fisher, one sister, Loretta Marie Davis and one granddaughter,Stephanie Lynn Mundy. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and was a... Read More	Leah Maud Fisher Cooke, 78, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007 at Community Hospital, in Springfield. She was born Oct. 22, 1929, in Springfield, the sixth child of Steven Alfred and Maud Maurel Wike Fisher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Lincoln Kay and Leslie Arno Fisher, one sister, Loretta Marie Davis and one granddaughter,Stephanie Lynn Mundy. Mrs. Cooke was a lifelong member of Central United Methodist Church and her drawings of each pastor who served the church can be seen in the church lounge. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and was a creative artist who designed and crafted handmade quilts for family and friends. She created and designed dolls and many types of "agape" to share with those she loved and will be remembered by the thousands who received notes of encouragement from her during her lifetime. She was also a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Mrs. Cooke worked with her husband as a school custodian for Enon Elementary School before their retirement in 1990. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Marlin Charles Cooke; six daughters and four son-in-laws, Pastor Don and Marsha Mundy, of Bethel, Josie Cooke, of Springfield, Gary Michael and Rosemary Steward, of DeGraff, Phil and Rhonda Burns, of New Carlisle, Vanessa Cooke, of Marysville and Denny and Brenda Lenox, of Springfield; 11 grandchildren, David and Aaron Mundy, Kate Godsey, Alex Hall, Denver and Austin Steward, Molly Davidson, Andy Burns, Dylan Cooke, Randi Pennywitt and Ronnee George; 13 great grandchildren, David, Jacob, Madison, Noah and Annika Mundy; Kyleigh Godsey, Dakota, Montana and Faith Steward; BJ, Alyssa and Jaden Pennywitt and Ava George; one sister, Lillian Mae Cooke, of Springfield; one brother, Lloyd Fisher, of Toledo; brothers and sister-in-laws, Lloyd and Christine Cooke, John and Marianna Shingler, Ellis and Jean Cooke, Norman Cooke and Marvin Kennedy, all of Springfield; numerous nieces and nephews and many special friends. Visitation will be held 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, at Jackson Lytle and Williams Funeral Home, located 2425 N. Limestone Street, in Springfield. Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10, at the funeral home, with Pastors Julie Carmean and Don Mundy officiating. Burial will be in Glen Haven Cemetery.
