She worked as entry clerk and the secretary-bookkeeper for 32 years for the Humboldt County Fair Association. She retired from there in 1974 to enjoy her hobbies of genealogy and crocheting. She was born October 17, 1918 in Ferndale where she lived until 1998 when she moved to Redding. She worked as entry clerk and the secretary-bookkeeper for 32 years for the Humboldt County Fair Association. She retired from there in 1974 to enjoy her hobbies of genealogy and crocheting. Leah is survived by her daughter, Lynn Smith of Redding; her grandson, Brian Smith and his wife Lisa of Redding; her nephew, Ed Renner of Ukiah; her nieces, Dorene Pedrotti of Ferndale and Deborah Rutter of Santa Rosa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Kausen in 1989; her parents, Lee and Edith (Smiley) Miner, her sisters, Doris Renner and Phyllis Dont. At her request no services will be held. Interment will take place at the Ferndale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ferndale Museum, P.O. Box 431, Ferndale, CA 95536 or to . Arrangements are under the care of Goble's Fortuna Mortuary.
