Description	:	Funeral services for Leander H. "Jim" Boetger, 67, former Plymouth County treasurer, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran church. The Rev. Harris Hostager officiated. Music "What a Friend We Have In Jesus and How Great Thou Art" was sung by Mrs. Milton Anderson, accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Henning Shoulberg. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery under direction of the Schroeder Funeral Home. Active Pall bearers were: Harvey Lias, James Buryanek, Roland Swanson, William Port, Parnell Boetger and Lawrence Maynard. Mr. Boetger died Saturday at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness. A Republican, Mr. Boetger served as Plymouth County treasurer during 1953 and 1954. He was born August 20,1902, in Union County, S.D., to Henry and Emma (Andersen) Boetger. He was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church, and confirmed In the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Akron. He married Ella Erickson March 4,1921 at Elk Point, and they farmed In the Akron and Hawarden communities for 30 years, retiring in 1952. Survivors include the widow; three sons, Donald and Arden, both of Akron, and Lowell of Millard, Neb.; a daughter, Mrs. Leonard Halweg of Craig, Iowa; a brother, Ernest of Akron; two sisters, Mrs. Marie West of Sioux City, and Mrs. Alvina Osterbuhr of Elk Point; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters and one grandson, Doyle Boetger.
