Leatrice Ardene Brown was born May 15, 1929 on the family farm near Logan. Her parents were Roy and Nora Haferbier Plummer. She spent her childhood on the farm and attended Harmony School near her home. At the Logan High School she took a Normal Training course which prepared her to teach after graduation in 1946. Until her marriage to Raymond Brown on November 26, 1950 here at the Methodist Church, she taught at Redinbaugh and Linwood Schools. She spent her married life on farms near Logan, where she gardened and enjoyed watching her daughters grow up and marry. Ten years ago Leatrice and Raymond built a home in town where she pursued her greatest interests, enjoying her grandchildren, growing roses and many varieties of flowers, and teaching at the LoMa Elementary School. This fall she had begun another year in the classroom. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband Raymond; daughters Sandra Kersten and son-in-law Kent, and Corlis Carlson, and son-in-law Brett; three grandchildren, Angie and Lanae Kersten and Jake Carlson all of Logan; and many other relatives, friends and the many children whose lives she touched.
