Description	:	Lee A. Rhodes Jr., 68, of Merino passed away Monday, April 28, 2014 in Merino. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 10:30 am Friday, May 9 at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am Friday, May 9 with Rev. Bill Jungmann celebrating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Lee was born on March 7, 1946 in Iliff, CO to Lee and Mary (Gertge) Rhodes. He attended Iliff schools, NortheasternJunior College, and graduated from ColoradoStateUniversity. He worked for Budweiser Brewery in Ft.Collins as an engineer, Great Western Sugar in Loveland, USDA NRCS (Natural Resource Conservation Service) in Sterling, worked at the prison and other jobs with electrical expertise, and farmed in Merino. He was a member of the IBEW Retired Members Club #68 and the IBEW Local Electrical Union. He enjoyed mechanical discoveries, nutrition, and health. He was a reserved person, but was always willing to help others. A true pioneer spirit and as a close friend said, he was a "Pure Jewel". He is survived by an uncle George Gertge, a niece and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Lee and Mary, and brother John Lee Rhodes. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Northeast Colorado Cancer Resource Association, PO Box 18, Merino, CO 80741. Tennant Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. .
