He was born April 19, 1917, near the former community of Moonlight, Dickinson County, Kansas, the son of James Marshall and Marie (nee True) Page. Read More	Son of James Marshall and Marie (nee True) Page. ****** Lee French Page, resident of Abilene, passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2015, at Enterprise Estates at the age of 98. He was born April 19, 1917, near the former community of Moonlight, Dickinson County, Kansas, the son of James Marshall and Marie (nee True) Page. He attended school in Detroit and graduated from Chapman High School in 1936. Lee grew up farming with his father and grandfather, then worked as a mechanic for John Deere in Abilene. He worked for J.B. Ehrsam & Sons Manufacturing for many years and retired in 1982. He was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Abilene, where he served as a Deacon for many years. Lee served as a motorcycle mechanic at Ft. Riley, Kansas, during World War II. His love of history and interest in genealogy inspired him to volunteer at the Dickinson County Historical Society and Heritage Center for more than 25 years, where he also served as a board member. Maintaining the merry-go-round and blacksmithing during Heritage Days celebrations were two of his greatest joys. He was married to Z. Orene Rossiter, who passed away in 1996. Lee is survived by his half- brother Frank Raynor, his son Richard Page and daughters, Pamela Page of Abilene, Helen Page of Jackson, California, and Lila (Page) Peters and her husband, John Peters of Wichita. Lee also leaves behind seventeen grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom he cherished. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Orene, sons Cecil and David, daughter Susan, granddaughter Heidi, his parents, and all of his sisters.Lee’s final resting place will be the Abilene Cemetery. Funeral services for Lee will be held Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 10:30 am at the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home in Abilene with Reverend Jack Gilstrap officiating.Friends may sign the guest book Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and until services Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dickinson County Historical Society and sent in care of the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home, 414 N.W.3rd, Abilene, Kansas 67410.
