The Rev. Dr. Millard F. Minnick, rector of Christ Episcopal Church, conducted the services. Burial was in Rockville Union Cemetery. Mr. Offutt, who was 67 years old, had been connected with the management of the cemetery in which he was buried, for many years. As a member of the board of directors, he had much to do with the gradual development of the burying grounds into a beautiful resting place for the dead. Active pallbearers at the funeral included Robert B. Peter, George M. Hunter, Harry C. Hurley, Charles Veirs, H. Worthington Talbott, Charles J. Maddox, F. Hazel Cashell, George Peter and Albert M. Bouic. The honorary pallbearers were the directors of the Montgomery County National Bank of Rockville, of which Mr. Offutt was a director and vice president at the time of his death.
