Read More	OBIT Daily News, Springfield, OH on Friday, January 7, 1944 L. K. (Doc) BOTKIN, 79, life-long resident of Clark County, died in his home at 6:15 a.m. Friday at North Hampton, O. Born in Plattsville, O, Oct. 19, 1864, Mr. BOTKIN had been a retired farmer for the last 18 years. He had been in failing health for more than four years but had been seriously ill only two weeks. Mr. BOTKIN had been affectionately known as "Doc" all his life. He was a member of the Asbury Methodist Church at North Hampton, and a member of the White Star Lodge, No. 292, Knights of Pythias. He is survived by his widow, Sally A,; two daughters, Mrs. Thurman HECK of New Carlisle, and Mrs. Alva HOPKINS of Oak Park, Ill. Five sons also survive, Ralph of Wooster, O; Paul of St. Paris O; Homer, East Liberty, O; Wendell of Columbus, and Elden of Medway, O. Three sisters are also among the survivors, Mrs. J. L. PENCE of New Carlisle; Mrs. S. J. NEFF, Urbana, and Mrs. F. M. CALDWELL of Springfield. A brother, J. G. BOTKIN of Urbana survives along with 19 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. The body was removed to Jackson-Lytle funeral home. It will be returned to the residence Friday evening. Sunday, from 1 p,m. to 2:30 p.m., it will lie in state in the Asbury Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow. The Rev. Charles E. Cramer, pastor of the church will officiate, assisted by Rev. James F. Walston. Burial will be in Newson Chapel Cemetery.
