His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Redfield. The Rev. Richard Wiekert will officiate. Solheim was born July 18, 1902, to Ole Solheim and Sigrid Leifsen at Vikedal, Norway. He came to the United States in 1918 and worked as a lumberjack. Later he worked for the railroad in Minnesota. He began farming in the Frankfort area. He married Jennie Bruins on April 9, 1929, at Redfield. They farmed near Frankfort until 1981, when they moved into Frankfort. He had been a resident at James Valley Nursing Home in Redfield for the past five years. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Survivors include three sons, Oscar Solheim, Marlin Solheim and Hans Solheim, all of Frankfort; two daughters, Mrs. Gene (Janet) Reich and Mrs. Robert (Janice) Patterson, both of Aberdeen; four sisters, Marta Lillimo, Anna Uikedal, Randi Leifsen and Signe Asbo, all of Norway; eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, one brother and one son. (Published in the Aberdeen American News, Sun. May 10, 1992)
