Description	:	Mrs. Charles Brewer Mrs. Charles W. Brewer, well-known resident of the Birmingham community, passed away about 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19 at Briggs-Eskew Nursing home in Fairfield. She had been a patient at the nursing home for the past 4 1/2 months. Last rites were held Sunday, Nov. 22 at 1:30 p.m. at the Birmingham Methodist church with the Rev. Albert McMurrin in charge. Burial was in the Mt. Moriah cemetery near Douds. Mrs. Charles W. Brewer, 63, born Jan. 3, 1896, at Indianola, Iowa, the daughter of Madison and Lydia Parking Richards. She was married to Charles W. Brewer on June 21, 1924, at Keosauqua. He passed away April 7, 1959. Her farm home is located 2 1/2 miles south of Birmingham where she had lived for the past 30 years. She was a member of the Birmingham Methodist church and the WSCS. Mrs. Brewer is survived by two step-daughters, Mrs. Arthur Williams, Birmingham; and Mrs. Herman Schulz, Ottumwa. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one half-brother, Opal Fields, Libertyville; one step-brother, Bradford Fields, Springfield, Ill.; also three step-sisters, Bessie Turner, Cameron, Ill.; Bertha Yeoman, Monmouth, Ill.; and Hazel McKinley, Pekin, Ill.
