Description	:	Mae Allan, 85, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017, in Clarkston, at the home of her daughter with whom she had been living the past six years. She was surrounded by her loving family. Mae was born on April 8, 1932, to William "Bill" and Eva Batten of Palouse. After graduation from Palouse High School in 1950, she spent a year at Multnomah Bible College. She was surrounded by her loving family. Mae was born on April 8, 1932, to William "Bill" and Eva Batten of Palouse. After graduation from Palouse High School in 1950, she spent a year at Multnomah Bible College. After college, Mae moved to Lewiston and lived with her grandmother and began her career in banking. She returned home to Palouse a few years later and resided there until 1992. In 1953, Mae married Charles Arrasmith. They had four children, Kirk, Teresa, Tamara and Mignon. They were later divorced, and in 1965 she married Eugene Allan. They had a daughter, Michelle. When her children were all in school, Mae went back into banking. She worked in Pullman for a short time and then returned to Palouse and worked for Old National Bank and later U.S. Bank as a teller and then as branch manager for over 20 years. Mae greeted all her patrons with her infectious smile. She was well-known and admired in the community and forged many lifelong friendships. Mae's biggest joy in life was her family. She was a kind, selfless and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her warm smile, unwavering support and encouragement were a blessing to each of us. Mae attended all of her children and grandchildren's sporting events, concerts, recitals and graduations. There are no words that can truly convey the unconditional love and pride she had for her family. She would say that being a mother was the "role of a lifetime" for her. Her family includes a son, Kirk Arrasmith (Jenifer Jensen); daughters Teresa (Burnell) Arndt, Tamara Arrasmith, Mignon Arrasmith, Michelle Allan (Ray Singer); grandsons Derek Arndt, Brandon (Christina) Arndt, Cody Arrasmith and Anthony Amoss; granddaughter Whitney Mae Arrasmith; great-grandchildren Bradyn Arndt, K'lee Arndt, Zedyn Benson and Jayden Singer. Mae loved dancing and spent many weekends dancing the night away. She loved gardening and passed that love on to her daughters. Mae also loved football. She was an avid San Francisco 49ers fan for more than 60 years, and this passion was passed on to her grandsons. Mae loved Christmas. It was never about the gifts, but the decorating, candy making, tree trimming and time spent with family. Playing games and sharing love and laughter were always a part of the celebration. Mae also loved traveling. She made yearly trips with one or more of her daughters. Her favorite destinations were to see her brother Don and family in Olympia and her sister Helen and family in Oregon City. Mae had a close relationship with them, and her sisters Dorothy and Carol as well. She was adored by all her nieces and nephews and was known as "Mae Mae" to most of them. Mae was a member of the Palouse Federated Church for most of her life. She was a Sunday school teacher and superintendent for many years. Mae's faith was a source of strength and comfort to her throughout her life. Mae retired in 1992 and moved to Clarkston, where she resided until her death. Mae's presence will be greatly missed by her family and countless friends. She was the greatest gift and blessing of our lives. Mae was preceded in death by her parents; a baby brother, Billy; and her beloved sister, Dorothy. She leaves behind a legacy of smiles, laughter and precious memories that will never be forgotten. A service honoring her life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Palouse Federated Church, 635 N. Bridge St., Palouse. Kramer Funeral Home of Palouse is caring for the family.
