Description	:	Leland Cieloha, 86, of Columbus, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010, at the VA Home in Grand Island. Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church in Genoa. The Rev. Glen Holtz will officiate. Burial will be at Valley View in Genoa with military rites by the Silver Creek American Legion. Mr. Cieloha was born June 9, 1924, in Clarks to George and Alice (Madey) Cieloha. He was a graduate of Silver Creek High School in 1943. Read More	Leland Cieloha, 86, of Columbus, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010, at the VA Home in Grand Island. Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church in Genoa. The Rev. Glen Holtz will officiate. Burial will be at Valley View in Genoa with military rites by the Silver Creek American Legion. Mr. Cieloha was born June 9, 1924, in Clarks to George and Alice (Madey) Cieloha. He was a graduate of Silver Creek High School in 1943. He married Ingeborg (Carlson) (Mahood) on June 9, 1960, in Omaha. He was a lifelong resident of the Silver Creek/Genoa area. Following several forms of employment, he worked at Becton-Dickinson for 23 years, retiring in 1982. He served in the U.S. Army from July 3, 1943, until Aug. 21, 1945, as a medical aidman with the 175th Infantry Regiment. He was in the European Theater. He was involved in the Normandy Campaign, Northern France Campaign, Rhineland Campaign and Central Europe Campaign. For his service, he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, the European African Medal, Middle Eastern Campaign with four Bronze Stars, WWII Victory Medal, Combat Medal Badge, 1st Sword and others. He was a member of the Silver Creek American Legion and the VFW in Columbus. Survivors include his wife, Ingeborg, of Columbus; a step-son, Robert (Sharon) Mahood, of Parker, Colo.; two step-grandchildren; and four great-step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond.
