Description	:	Leland H. DuBois was born to George and Bessie DuBois at Western on June 7, 1915, and passed away after a short illness at his home in Bruning on Saturday, November 7, 1981, at the age of 66 years and five months. He was baptized as an infant into the United Brethren Christian faith at Strang. He attended White Temple country school, and in 1932 graduated from the Strang high school. DuBois was born to George and Bessie DuBois at Western on June 7, 1915, and passed away after a short illness at his home in Bruning on Saturday, November 7, 1981, at the age of 66 years and five months. He was baptized as an infant into the United Brethren Christian faith at Strang. He attended White Temple country school, and in 1932 graduated from the Strang high school. As a young man he chose farming as his profession. On October 15, 1940, he was united in marriage to Louise Messman. To this union were born two sons. In addition to farming, he also owned and operated a Star mail route for 15 years. After retiring, Leland and Louise moved to Bruning, where he was employed by the Bruning public schools as a bus driver and part time custodian. When the Strang united Brethren church closed, Leland and his family transferred their membership to the Bruning United Methodist church, where he was an active member until death. His family and grandchildren were his delight and joy. His last years were happily spent in gardening, fishing and hunting. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Kenneth, and one infant sister. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Louise, son and daughter-in-law, Dayle and Marlene, and son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Delores; four granddaughters; two grandsons, his mother-in-law, Mrs. Leta Messman; and step-mother, Mrs. Marie DuBois; sister and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Messman; sister, Mrs. Evelyn Wheat; sister-in-law, Mrs. Eileen DuBois; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Darrell D. Messman; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Services were conducted from the United Methodist church of Bruning on Tuesday, November 10. The Rev. C. J. Willis officiated. Music was performed by organist Mrs. Wayne Thompson and vocalist Tom Bumgarner. The selections were “How Great Thou Art” and “Someday We’ll Understand.” Pallbearers were John Boitnott, Larry Hulse, Eugene McLaughlin, Robert Messerli, Dean Stewart and John Zimmerman.
