Parbs, 70, retired farmer and a retired employee of Iowa Manufacturing Company, and a lifelong resident of the Center Point and Urbana communities, passed away suddenly at 5:30 p.m. Monday, September 24, 1984, southeast of Urbana, Iowa. Services at 11:00 a.m.. Friday, September 28, 1984. at the Urbana Christian Church in Urbana, Iowa. Pastor Lee Wiley will officiate. Interment will be in Urbana Cemetery. Pallbearers are Clair Strait, Alvin Strait, Fay Strait, Dean Denison, Harold Cook and Roy Haines. The son of Theodore and Grace Kisling Parbs, he was born April 30, 1914 south of Urbana.... He married Ethel Avis Carman on January 27, 1934 in Toddville, Iowa, and were later divorced. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Doris) Kubik, Mrs. Keith (Frances) Wingfield and Mrs. Gwendolyn Serbouske, all of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Ray (Iva) McMullin of Fort Pierce, Florida; three sons, Ivan and Donald Parbs, both of Center Point and Everett Parbs of Cheyenne, Wyoming; sixteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Boyles of Urbana. He was preceded in death by a twin sister, Vena Goodwin.
