In 1962, he married Linda Sherbondy.... Read More	LINDER, LELAND R'DEL—Leland R'Del Linder, age 64, of Geneva, died Tuesday, August 28,2007, at Homestead Nursing Home in Lincoln. Leland was born January 5, 1943, to Roy and Francis (Schupbach) Linder in Geneva. He was one of four children. Leland attended grade school and high school in Geneva, graduating in 1962. Right out of high school, Leland worked for Ellison Oil Company. After a few years, construction became his livelihood, beginning with Keister-Walker Company and for the last 35 years as a heavy-equipment operator for L.J. Webb Construction. In 1962, he married Linda Sherbondy. Together, they raised sons: Kevin, Mitch and Craig. While they divorced in 1981, they remained close through his last days during which Linda contributed her person efforts to his final care. Cancer may have forced Leland into early retirement, but it gave him extra time for the most important people in his life—his family. From his diagnosis on February 7, 2007, to his death on August 28, 2007, he spent the majority of his time in Lincoln, staying with his sons’ families and his brother and sister-in-law. Chemotherapy and radiation treatments slowed the cancer, and gave him time to travel to Denver for Mitch’s surprise birthday party, a couple weekends at the lake, and lots of the everyday time to spend with his children and grandchildren. He also was able to return to Geneva for a few weeks where he could enjoy being home and seeing his friends. Leland is preceded in death by his parents; infant sister Ramona Kay Linder; and his brother Delfs, longtime companion, Terry Shea. Leland is survived by former wife, Linda; sons and their wives, Kevin and Brenda, Mitch and Lori, and Craig and Terry; grandchildren, Drew, Jillian and Jenna Linder; Riley and Dawson Linder, and Sage and Shelby Linder, and Stacey, Sabrina and Samantha Rucker; brothers, Delfs Linder; and Benne and wife, Sheri Linder; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and good friends. He will be dearly missed by them all. Memorial services for Leland were held on September 4, at the United Methodist Church in Geneva with Pastor Ron Harris officiating the service. Susan Kleinschmidt accompanied the congregation in the singing of “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” and also played at the service was the recorded selection of “I Can Only Imagine” by Mercy Me. Honorary bearers for the service included Leland’s grandchildren: Drew, Jillian, Jenna, Riley, Dawson, Sage and Shelby Linder and Stacey, Sabrina and Samantha Rucker. Interment was in the Geneva Public Cemetery. The Nebraska Signal September 12th, 2007 page 14.
