It is another "didn't know it was loaded" case. In the absence of the older one from the room the younger placed a cartridge in his gone and then on his return snapped his own in his brother's face. The boy was in painful agony all day yesterday and this morning intelligence was received from University Place that he was dead, which report was confirmed at noon by telephonic advices from that place. His remains will be taken to Rising, Butler county, for interment. ``````````````` Ulysses Dispatch (Ulysses, Nebr.), February 15, 1893, p. 3, col. 5 Lemuel Lemon, the University Place boy who was shot by his brother, died of his injuries, or of a surgical operation which was undertaken to save his life. The doctors placed the wounded boy on a table in a room heated to 122 degrees. His abdomen was laid open and the entrails removed from the abdominal cavity and thoroughly drenched. Eleven perforations of the bowels were found and these were sewed up. The entrails were then replaced and the abdomen sewed up. The boy rallied but it was only temporary, and at 11 o'clock the next morning he succumbed. Deceased was a son of James Lemon, who moved from Union township, this county, to University Place to educate their children.
