Services for the couple will be held at 1:30 o'clock at Wayne Zion Lutheran church rural Monticello. Rev. Harvey O. Gilbertson will officiate. Bural will be in Wayne Zion cemetery. Herman H. Helgens, 73, was born May 8, 1901 at Monticello, son of Harm and Grace Zimmerman Helgens. He attended Monticello schools and Lenox college, Hopkinton, two years. Lena J. Helgens, 72 was born Oct 26, 1902 in Monticello daughter of Herman and Mary Collmann Zimmerman. She attended Monticello schools and taught two years in Jones county. the couple was married Sept 15, 1926. They farmed in Wayne township until 1959 when they moved to Monticello. Mr. Helgens was a member of Jones county board of supervisors 12 years. They are survived by one son, Clifford, Monticello; one daughter, Mrs. Harold (Dorothy) Ketelsen, Naperville, Ill, and six grandchildren. One grandson preceded them in death. Mr. Helgens is also survived by two brothers, Ed L. and Louis, both of Monticello, and one sister, Mrs. Anna Siebels, Scotch Grove. Four brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.
