Description	:	Lena Blum was born in Koenderingen State, Baden, Germany, in 1878. She died at her home near White Lake, SD, August 1, 1923. She came to America a baby in her mother's arms, the youngest of four children born in Germany before her parent migrated to this country in 1879. The Blum family settled in Council Bluffs, Iowa where they lived for five years. She died at her home near White Lake, SD, August 1, 1923. She came to America a baby in her mother's arms, the youngest of four children born in Germany before her parent migrated to this country in 1879. The Blum family settled in Council Bluffs, Iowa where they lived for five years. In 1884 they moved to White Lake, South Dakota, where deceased grew to young womanhood and was married to H A Endter June 4, 1902. To this union five children were born, Carl, Theodore, Marie, Erwin and Caroline, the latter aged six years, who with their father survive their mother. Mrs. Endter was taken sick about three years ago with a disease that was threatening to bring about the loss of her sight. Accordingly she was taken to the Rochester clinic for treatment and an operation was performed on her making an incision in her skull. The operation probably saved her eye sight but left her almost a hopeless invalid for the last six months of her life until her death a week ago. She was a member of a large family being survived by her mother, four sisters and five brothers who were all at the funeral, excepting one brother living in Illinois, who could not arrange his affairs to reach White Lake in time for the funeral. The funeral was conducted from the family residence one mile east of White Lake to the Lutheran church in that town where the services were held according to the rites of the Lutheran church the Reverend A.C. Streufert officiating. A long procession of sorrowing relatives and friends followed the remains to the cemetery north east of White Lake where interment took place. Mrs. Endter was well known in the community having lived in the county since 1883. She has been a hard working woman who took great pleasure in the companionship of her family and home and her passing is most untimely. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband and five children Carl, Theodore, Marie, Irwin and Caroline: her mother, Mrs. Blum: five brothers, Chas, Fred, Art, Erwin, and Otto Blum: four sisters, Mrs. Wetterer, Mrs. Miller, Mrs. Schumaker and Mrs. Albert Miller besides many neighbors and friends in the community.
