After three years of failing health, Mrs. Schrader died Nov. 1, 1975 in Marengo Memorial Hospital. Since April 1975 she had resided in Brookhaven Nursing home. Music for services was by Mrs. William Alexander, organist. Casket bearers were grandsons, Dennis Shine, Greg, Mark and Lyn Wagner; David Shaull and Ron Wauters. Todd Wagner was an honorary basket bearer. Burial was in the IOOF cemetery, Victor. Born Mar. 17, 1898 in Rugby, Va., she was the daughter of Mary and Isaac Walton. At the age of 18 she came to Iowa to live with her sister, Mrs. Bertie Walton. Sept. 16, 1916, she married Guy L. Shine. To this union four children were born. The couple farmed for many years on farms south of Victor. He died Jan. 18, 1940. In 1942 she and her daughter moved to Victor. March 17, 1943 she married Herman Schrader and his death occurred in 1948. Most of her life had been spent in the Victor community, where she worked in the Victor school as a cook, in restaurants and in the Marengo Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Romberg, Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. Gladys Uridil, Victor; a son, Wilbur Shine, Victor; nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Effie Dougherty, Belle Plaine; and Mrs. Bertie Walton, Wisconsin, a sister-in-law, Mrs. Lillian Bushnell, Colorado Springs, Colo., a step daughter Mrs. Bruce Coats, and a step son, Truman Schrader, California, a number of nieces and nephews. Preceding in death were her parents, a daughter, Mrs. Joan Wagner, two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Shine and Mrs. Eula Quillen and a brother, John Walton. Funeral services were held in the McAninch Funeral parlor on Monday, Nov. 3, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. William Alexander, organist.
